A random day today ......... My first taste of OS travel ..........PARIS

It was well into middle old age before I travelled overseas.

Thanks to a good friend R-V

 my life was changed
.......... broadened.

R-V phoned one day to say 

'We're going to France'

thought 
how exciting
.. for her and hubby. 

No said R-V 

'we as in you and me'

Knock me down with a feather,

it took me a day to stop dithering and accept.

Australia  is ancient in so many ways,

but so young in others.

The history over there,
the architecture,
 blew me out of the water.

Having been born and bred in a little country town in Oz.

 I was like a kid in a lolly shop.

Things read about,
dreamt about,
 were there before my very eyes.

How blessed am I to have experienced it all.

Paris at dawn
  Never seen so many chimney pots.
So starts a day of exploring  ..... in PARIS

Palais Garnier Opera House.
Never in my life had I seen such a beautiful building .... in PARIS

It totally took my breath away,
Never to be the same again........  in PARIS

Never seen such chaotic traffic ....... on the Champ Elysees .......  in PARIS

Never thought I'd see
the Iconic Eiffel Tower
 view from  the Arc De Triomphe.........  in PARIS

Never thought I'd get to climb it either but I did ......... in PARIS

Of course as a tourist
one must do the Louvre........
Mona Lisa
and much much more ..... in PARIS

Paris the city of Lights ...... magic

Champs Elysees by night........ inPARIS

We walked and walked Paris it's the best way.

So many sights and senses to delight.

Always found the locals most helpful.

 

We had no language apart

 from merci, bonjour and bonsoir,

and a talent for mime.

Talk about a couple of greenhorns,

they were very kind.

The Metro was an eye-opener,

 once mastered

proved to be travel de rigueur.

Paris was and is everything you have read about and more.

It just leaves you wanting more.

So  began my love of France.

As well as Paris
we had a 3week tour of France.
This only confirmed my love of this country.

And my love of travel.
