Top town inTassie

Oatlands
 population  about 600
would have to be of my fav little towns
here in Tassie.

It a mere swerve off the Midlands highway.

Sort of half way between Hobart and Launceston.

It's such a quaint colonial town,
with beautiful sandstone buildings.

An interesting history.
All tied up with convicts, military,
landed gentry and even bushrangers.
All the good stuff.

Now a thriving community,
with art galleries, antiques and cafes.

Good coffee
some vintage goodies to be found

My favourite stop is the Callington Mill

Restored to full working order in 2010,
produces and sells freshly milled flour.

There is now a Companion Bakery
And
According to the law of me
make the best Sourdough bread
...... ever.

The Mill ......wind powered

A random shot ..... garden in Oatlands

Always a stop for us.
