What a treat

We are travelling again with King R and Lady L
have done for the past 14years.

In all those years
we have managed to spend the winters in the tropics.

From Tassie to the tropics
.............. the eternal summer.

We are soooo lucky
count the blessings

Anyways

We are lucky one of King Rs'
niece and family live in the outback,
 working on Stations.

Thanks to King R

we got to visit them with each move they made.

It is always interesting and a joy to experience Station life

This year they
have moved QLD.

Still isolated but only 180ks from nearest town
compared to the 600ks on previous station.

While we were there we had a day watching cattle mustering.

What a treat.

Early morning start by the helicopters,
essential to a smooth running muster.

The helicopter vital part of a Muster.

While horses and motorbikes are used to control the herd
the helicopters are use to bring the mobs together
covering vast distances.

School hols the kids are eager to help

Now these kids are 8 6 and 4yrs old.

They take on the responsibilities of adults
working with the horses and the cattle as needed.

A treat and privilege to watch.
For me who has never ridden a horse
watching them cut out the wandering cattle
then bring them back to the mob is both humbling and awe inspiring.

Thanks K and D and the gorgeous L, C and L
you always make us feel welcome.

Showing us a lifestyle
so different to our farming and so different to suburban life.
