If Rusty was vexed .......... SO WAS I

Everyone knows Kelpie dogs
are either flat out .......or ....... flat out.

Energetic and highly intelligent are Kelpies.
Easily bored.

Now Rusty our Kelpie sheepdog
 loves his telly,
 especially a good wildlife show.

He will sit enthralled for hours.

So when Sir and I went out Christmas Eve last year,
just for an hour,
 just across the road
to enjoy some Christmas Cheer.

We had it sorted.

Left him up in the lounge
with a David Attenborough docco on the telly
 always a favourite of his.

Maybe just maybe
over the month of December last year,
while we were out enjoying Christmas cheer
he had been left home alone,
alone watching the telly
.................. a little too much.

Maybe just maybe
......... Rusty got bored.

Anyways
 we got it wrong.
Very wrong.

David Attenborough didn't do the job.
It was a case of
one night too many left on his own.

Sir and I arrived home late last Christmas Eve
 to be greeted with this.

Rusty had had his own Christmas Party.

He had got the presents from under the tree
and "unwrapped" them.

He had got too and stripped
the bottom of the tree ..........
Stripped it of all the ornaments.
Chewed up some precious wooden ornaments
the ones
Gorgeous One J-B bought back from Germany.

He had got the packets of Bon Bons
off the table and tossed them everywhere.

Rusty had never been a chewer or a destroyer,
it was a one off but what a time to do it

Rusty may have been vexed
at being left at home so much,
he was definitely  bored
 but
 I WAS VEXED
 VERY VEXED.
ABSOLUTELY FROTHING.

We were having Christmas lunch
 here the next day.

I spent the rest of what was left of
the night trying to save presents.

Thank goodness everyone
 took it in good spirits.

By the time Christmas presents were opened
they didn't seem to mind too much that some of the
presents had dog slobber and holes.

Perhaps that volatile loaded punch I greeted everyone with helped!
