It's spring,
time to get the Veggie garden up and running
I'm taking over this year.
Can't stand the messy veggie garden Sir runs.
Can't stand the messy veggie garden Sir runs.
For the all the years we farmed I ran the garden.
With retirement decided
to let Sir into the hallowed grounds of my veggie patch.
Let me say Sir ran a very successful farming business.
Running a tight ship.
We had to, the margins weren't that high.
Sir is methodical, plans ahead and singleminded.
I however, can be all over the shop.
Spontaneous, Airy-Fairy spring to mind.
I have always worked on the organic approach,
with a touch of permaculture.
You know planting with the moon cycle etc.
Airy-fairy bit.
Carefully rotating my garden beds,
planting with companion plants.
More airy-fairy bits.
But it is organised the beds all in a row.
What does Sir do
He moves in with the weed killer.
He moves in with the weed killer.
Snail bait.
And horror of horrors
Just chucks everything in
every which way.
Never leaves a spare inch of earth.
every which way.
Never leaves a spare inch of earth.
Sir starts of so well keeping my beds organised |
BUT
It ends up like this Chaos |
So what is it with me,
me with my airy-fairy ideas and not coping with this chaos.
Have to admit his patch is always productive.
Gotta give him that.
BUT
I want my order back.
There is a battle about to happen.
Doesn't matter really
there is something so satisfying picking
your own veggies.
They taste so good.
