Have had a whistle stop tour of the town of my childhood.
Have visited our old home town many times over the years.
We still have family and friends there.
This time decided to look at it as it was in my childhood.
Firstly my childhood home,
totally unrecognisable.
It has had a doozy of a renovation,
a shocker so much so that I couldn't take a photo.
I know
ME
not take a photo.
It is so bad.
Will stay with those happy memories thanks.
The Schools are unrecognisable too.
So much bigger,
that's OK.
A new Primary School has been built
and the High School has lots more classrooms.
The Tafe has also been made part of the complex.
Spent an afternoon with Sister R in this classroom.
R was teaching a class in water-painting.
Painting still a mystery to me.
A talent.
Just give me some putty and a roller
and a wall.
I'd be away.
What a trip down memory lane ,
standing in that old room.
My first school the classroom was on far right. |
Spot the car
I know I know
This was a Sat afternoon.
If you went to one of the many sportsgrounds
It would be as busy as all.
.......... Just saying.
I went to Church here
Sunday School was in the hall at the side.
Sir and I were married in this Church,
all those years ago.
The church is now a Funeral Parlour.
What the....
is it following my life!!
and those beautiful gums lining the roads into town.
Have so many fond memories of this little town in SA.
To experience growing up in this small community
was a privilege.
A good start in life.
