Think 2007

The Year 2007 we travelled across Queensland to Lawn Hill National Park

We planned to stay at the Lawn Hill National Park
 which meant no dogs allowed.
Monty the old farm sheepdog was left with Gorgeous One JG-B in Brisbane
And off we trekked with Freedom (caravan at the time)
King R and Lady L
It took 1837Ks to get to Lawn Hill.
or Boodjamulla as the indigenous call it.
Across the Landsborough Highway.
Turning at Cloncurry up the Burke Development road
 to Burke and Wills Roadhouse.
Then heading west to GregoryDowns.
We had intended camping you know the real camping
(shudder) with a tent and stuff.
The plan being to leave our Vans
 at Gregory Downs Pub.
From Gregory Downs
a mere 100ks of dirt road
to Lawn Hill
Too rough for the vans we'd been told.
When we arrived  and spoke to other travellers
we found out the road was passable for Vans
we could stay at Adels Grove near by.
Oh the joy.
No tenting

We spent many months
Sir, King R, Lady L and I
enjoying the the North West of Queensland.
Seeing the Gulf of Carpentaria, travelling the Savannah Way
 and especially Cobald Gorge.
More of that later

The 100ks of dirt from Gregory Downs to get to Adels Grove

All dirt and tricky to navigate but we made it.
The dreaded Red Dirt it gets in
                                                                         into EVERYTHING

A Road Train had just passed
The red dust kicks up.

To get bogged in this would be a major problem
especially towing a Van
Each corner of Australia has different scenery
with different experiences to be had.
