The other week while getting ready
for the street Christmas Progressive dinner party.
for the street Christmas Progressive dinner party.
Was cleaning the silver cutlery
as you do.
as you do.
Remembered a family story relating to silver cutlery.
Way back when Mum and Dad
celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.... Silver of course
celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.... Silver of course
we
as in all the kids
clubbed together
and bought them a lovely 6 piece setting of silver cutlery.

All good
the set rolled out
and enjoyed over the years.
My Sister P inherited this set.

My Sister P inherited this set.
Unfortunately when found
somehow the dinner knives of the set were missing.
A real mystery.
My Sister P was very upset and refused to have them.
For some reason I quietly took the remaining set.
Adding some visuals
Photos of Christmas do.
Anyways
back to the tale.
Many years passed,
a move to Tassie for us,
where I became a keen auction goer.
Imagine my delight
one day while at the auctions
and ratting through all the sundries
I spied a scungy box
with some of the cutlery
to match Mum and Dads.
Quickly made a bid
success
the scungy box and cutlery was all mine.
Now here comes the real tale.
In this box were
in total
12 yes 12 of the Dinner knives
that were missing from Mum and Dads set.
It gets better.
Along with them were a matching
6 of everything else,
of all the other forks knives spoons etc.
Upshot
my sister P is now
the proud owner of a complete
matching 12 piece setting
of a silver cutlery set.
This cutlery set was purchased in SA the 1960's
used in SA and Qld
and re-completed from Tassie in 2006.
xDee
P.S Christmas is upon us, then New Year then a visit up to the Gorgeous Ones
counting down the sleeps.
